Car Insurance Changes

What’s Changing With My Car Insurance?

The Ontario Government made important changes to car insurance in September 2010 to help stabilize premiums in the future so we don't continue to see the large premium increases experienced in the past 2 years.

By law, your car insurance must be issued with the lowest possible injury benefits available. You now must choose the injury benefits coverage that you, your spouse, dependants and other drivers listed on your policy will be entitled to if injured in a car accident. If you do nothing, there may be significant gaps in your coverage, affecting the ability of car accident victims to recover physically and financially after a car accident.
